Contract or Direct Hire?
Today’s episode discusses the world of tech and benefits and the differences between contract and direct hires. As the tech industry grows and more and the need for top talent rises, there are times to hire someone long-term, and times when a contract hire is the best choice. Brad and Bobby discuss the changing IT landscape and the importance of identifying whether you, as a company, should hire a contract worker for a short-term project, or a long-term employee who can continue to work at and benefit your company.
“I mean especially now with the gig economy, so many companies actually utilize contractors. Most people don’t even realize that. So, yes, I think we are going to see more and more project-based work. I mean, primarily that’s where we deal with a lot of our people, and it is more of that contract side, because of their specialties niche. People who focus on certain software, are only needed for 6 months to 9 months, and then that’s it.”
Brad Anderson, CEO of TechBridge, a Salt Lake City IT staffing company, and Bobby Glen James, Author, Speaker, and founder of BoTecha IT Support discuss the different roles of contract workers and direct hires, as well as when you should hire each and how they can benefit you.
