Jobs In Tech Episode 23 | Video | IT Unicorns

TechBridge recruits top developers and places them with the businesses that need their expertise.

Can Companies Really Find An IT Unicorn?

Today’s episode discusses “unicorns” and what they mean in the business world. Learn why companies get so fixated on finding the “perfect fit” and whether or not this is a realistic desire for hiring managers. Brad and Bobby discuss the changing IT landscape and whether or not companies should look for the “perfect” candidate when seeking to fill a position, as well as what consequences can come from that mindset. Brad Anderson, CEO of TechBridge, a Salt Lake City IT staffing company, and Bobby Glen James, Author, Speaker, and founder of BoTecha IT Support discuss the correct mindset when looking to hire a new candidate and whether or not the “perfect” candidate is actually a perfect fit. Hear these tech experts discuss this important topic in this week’s episode of the New IT podcast episode, “Unicorns”

I don’t think it’s possible to find a “unicorn”, but it is possible to get semi-close. I mean nobody is going to be perfect, nobody is going to know everything, but if you can get somebody that’s hitting 15 out of the 20 things you’re asking for that’s good. But more than that, you want to actually understand and know whoever you’re hiring. Do they have motivation? Are they driven? They can be taught? Skills can be taught if you get somebody that’s open to learning.”
