What You’ll Do
- Ensure web property environments are aligned with business requirements and capabilities
- Ensure web technology vendors and product selections adhere to University technology principles and standards
- Monitor and optimize web application performance, security, and privacy
- Implement and support various applications, servers, environments, and related services
- Provide technical leadership, oversight, and standardization of University web-based solutions
- Provide leadership and guidance on how web technologies can be leveraged, reused, improved, and integrated to support current and future business needs and requirements
- Write well-documented, understandable, and maintainable front-end and back-end code using PHP, CSS3, HTML5, Javascript, and jQuery
- Integrate third-party cloud solutions to existing systems
- Troubleshoot/debug problems with various web-based systems
- Install, configure, and maintain web servers
- Maintain DNS records
- Manage technical aspects of content management systems (CMS)
- Management fulfillment of escalated web requests/tickets
- Actively contribute to knowledge transfer via training and the knowledge base
Must Haves
- 5+ years of experience with web development
- Strong communication skills
- Experience collaborating effectively with both technical and non-technical team members across multiple departments
- A solid understanding of how web applications work including security, session management, and best development practices
- Experience building user interfaces for web applications
- Strong desire and commitment to learn and apply new skills
- Experience with code versioning tools (Git)
- Experience with Cloud Computing (AWS, Google Cloud)
- Proficient in SQL
- Proficiency in reading/writing PHP, CSS3, HTML5, Javascript, and JQuery
- An understanding of APIs
- Strong understanding of the latest industry and CMS trends
- Aggressive problem diagnosis and creative problem-solving skills
